What is nearshore AI development?
Hiring AI engineering talent in a nearby country with overlapping time zones and culture, rather than offshore (large time difference) or onshore (highest cost). For Western European teams, the Balkans and wider Eastern Europe are the nearshore sweet spot: same working hours, EU-adjacent legal norms, strong English, and rates 30-50% below London, Amsterdam, or Munich for equivalent seniority.
